If You Stumble, Make it Part of the Dance!
Clowning as a doorway to self acceptance, freedom and joy
A two day workshop with Laura Geilen of Nose to Nose
Saturday and Sunday, September 20 & 21, 10am to 5pm
$250 (or $200 each with a friend) @ Mettabee Farm, Hillsdale, NY
Clowning is about the acceptance of our most authentic, fumbling selves. It offers us a space of respite from our doubts, worries and fears by inviting us to play with them. As a tiny mask with big protection, the clown’s red nose gives us permission to stand in our vulnerability, allowing us to realize, accept and stay true to who and how we are in any given moment. Surprising, touching and often very funny things can happen in this state of trust, acceptance and curiosity.
Through movement and games, entrances and exits, being and reflecting we will explore what happens when we let go of control, perfection, reason and judgment and instead welcome the unknown, the present moment, the real, the illogical and the absurd.* For beginner and advanced clowns alike.
