Mettabee Farm Harmony Singing Workshop   May 18, 2024   3-4:30 pm

with Cindy Kallet, Grey Larsen, and Will Brown

Come join us for some harmony fun! We'll do some musical warm-ups and then work on getting comfortable and adventurous with harmonies to easy-to-learn songs. We may also teach you a song or two with harmony parts the three of us have previously invented. All voices and levels of experience welcome! No music-reading ability necessary.

Cindy is a superb singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Grey is one of America’s finest players of the Irish flute and tin whistle, as well as an accomplished singer and concertina, fiddle, piano and harmonium player. Will presents his stellar arrangements of songs and tunes from the Folk, Appalachian, Maritime, Celtic and Transatlantic traditions. The concert will feature solos, duos and the trio, as they join forces in dynamic harmony and instrumental delights.

Scott Alarik of The Boston Globe calls Cindy “…one of folk music’s most respected songwriters… provocative, heartwise, and original …a brilliant guitarist….” Mike Joyce of the Washington Post calls Grey “… a gifted multi-instrumentalist who consistently demonstrates his melodic finesse,” while The New Mexico Daily describes his playing as “positively spellbinding.” Cindy and Grey have also appeared with host Andrea Seabrook on National Public Radio’s “Weekend All Things Considered.”
