The Capital District Megaband is a community contra dance
band based in upstate New York, sponsored by the DanceFlurry
Organization, and conducted by George Wilson. The band consists of
local amateur musicians interested in playing dance music for dancers.
Participating musicians are from all over the Capital region. Besides
the traditional fiddle, guitar, flute, and keyboard, the band includes
brass instruments, recorders, banjos, and just about anything that
can play music.
