Georgian Polyphony has been celebrated worldwide by the likes of Werner Herzog, Kate Bush, Billy Joel, the Coen Brothers, Alan Lomax, and even Igor Stravinsky! UNESCO declared Georgian polyphonic song to be a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. A Georgian song was even included on the legendary Golden Disc launched into space on the Voyager Spacecraft in 1977, one example of the finest musical achievements of mankind.

Carl Linich & Sons Trio This family trio will share a selection of their repertoire to complement the Bard Georgian Choir. Carl Linich has been singing in a trio with his sons, Luke and Sean, for ten years now. Both of the boys were born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and have grown up in the living tradition of Georgian folk singing. Luke is now 20 and Sean is 16, so the trio’s sound has changed a bit since 10 years ago!
