Join Eric Sherman and The New Millennium Jelly Rollers for a foot-stomping and funky evening of call-and-response worksongs!
Come participate in a worksong tradition that is being rediscovered by farmers all over the country as a means of making group labor a fun and creative experience. The New Millennium Jelly Rollers will be leading traditional African American worksongs, while Eric Sherman will be leading his own fresh, hot, original worksongs inspired by the "latent funkiness" of the Hudson Valley. You can also be sure to expect plenty of low-down country blues, raucous fiddle tunes, heartrending mountain ballads, and general hilarity throughout the evening.
Many of the songs we'll be singing will be participatory, so bring all your friends and come ready to cut loose and sing out!
$15 Suggested Donation. Music begins at 7 PM.
Also come partake of the POTLUCK SUPPER BEFORE THE SHOW. Potluck begins 5:30. Bring your favorite bowl, plate, spoon, fork, spork, and dish if you wish.
CAMPING is available for those who wish to stay over. Bound to be plenty of more songs 'round the campfire after the show! RSVP about camping to: sherman.box@gmail.com
