This concert is a collaboration between Jazz and Classics for Change and Mettabee Farm & Arts, in an effort to make high level classical music available to all ages. We welcome families with children around six years and older. If children are having trouble sitting “mostly quietly,” we ask that they listen from the first floor of the barn.

Bring your children who play a musical instrument or wish to deepen their connection and love for music. This concert offers encouragement and support to all parents who value the gift music brings to their children and to their family life.

ANTHONY BRACEWELL, violin

Anthony Bracewell, from Windsor Ontario, began his studies at the age of five. He received his bachelor’s degree in violin performance in 2013 from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with violin pedagogues Jaime Laredo and Paul Kantor.  Additionally, he has a master of music degree in violin performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and Juilliard. Bracewell is now pursuing a Master’s degree in viola performance at the Juilliard School as a student of Paul Neubauer.  Bracewell has studied advanced musical analysis and ear training, as well as Dalcroze Eurythmics, music production, and sound engineering. In 2010 Bracewell formed the Contranuities Quartet an ensemble committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and acoustic instruments into folk and jazz genres. As a teenager, Bracewell served as the Concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, working with renowned artists such as Sir Andrew Davis, Midori, Itzhak Perlman, Leonard Slatkin, and Yo-Yo Ma. He was a grand prize winner in the 2008 St. Paul National String Quartet Competition as well as a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award from the NPR National radio show, “From the Top.”  He has been a winner of the Cleveland Institute of Music concerto competition, and is also a winner of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Ensembles concerto competition. Bracewell has soloed with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, the CIM Orchestra and numerous chamber ensembles.  As a violist, Bracewell has served as the principal violist of the Shepherd School of Music Symphony Orchestra.  Concert engagements have led him around the world to venues from underground pubs in Europe to Carnegie Hall. In 2011 he served as Assistant Concertmaster of the New York String Orchestra Seminar in Carnegie Hall, and in the past year has been invited to perform as Concertmaster of the Geneva Light Opera Company, principal violist of the Salomé Chamber Orchestra, principal second violin of the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, as well as a frequent guest of the Shattered Glass ensemble. In 2018 he became a member of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra.

JULIAN MÜLLER, cello

American German cellist Julian Müller, performs as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player in the United States and Europe. Hailed as “...haunting and mesmerizing...” by USA Today, Julian appeared as soloist with the Louisville Orchestra, giving world premiere performances of the ballet How They Fade, composed by him and art-pop band, YASSOU, on a commission from the Louisville Ballet Company. Julian has been presented on NPR Live, with Sergei Babayan. Other chamber music collaborations include performances with Simone Dinnerstein, Matt Haimovitz, Peter Salaff, and members of the Cleveland Orchestra. Julian has made festival appearances at the Aspen Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute, Caroga Lake Music Festival, among others. Julian appears frequently with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, performing in many of New York City’s various venues. Additionally, he performs with the Metropolis Ensemble, Montclair Orchestra, has served as principal cellist of the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Mannes Orchestra, Rutgers Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and is principal cello of the Berkshire Symphony. Julian holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music and Professional Studies Diplomas from the Mannes School of Music, and will receive a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Rutgers University. Principal mentors include Timothy Eddy, Georg Faust, Ronald Feldman, Sharon Robinson and Jonathan Spitz. Julian is Artist Associate in Cello at Williams College. 

GILI MELAMED-LEV, piano

Pianist Gili Melamed-Lev is recognized for her artistic vision, unique artistry and innovative programing. She is an engaging, multi-faceted pianist who enjoys a career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist.
Ms. Melamed-Lev is the co-founder and Artistic director of Jazz and Classics for Change, a concert series in Columbia County (NY) and the Berkshires (MA) that is dedicated to connect and to heal through music in our changing world. She is also a member of the Lev-Evans duo with pianist Mark Evans. Ms. Melamed-Lev garnered rave reviews for her collaboration with Australian actor John McManus during their extended tour of The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico. She also partnered with the Actors’ Ensemble and Walking the Dog Theater (WTD).
She has collaborated with Eugene Drucker, Aaron Boyd, Michael Roth, Kenneth Cooper, Jenia Pikovsky, Joana Genova, Joel Pitchon, Gilad Rivkin, William Frampton, Ariel Rudiakov, Dima Ratosh, Roberta Cooper, Ashley Bathgate, Ronald Feldman, Inbal Segev, Nathaniel Parke, Linor Katz, Volcy Palletier, Peter Weitzner, Paul Green, Gili Sharett, Judith Mendenhall, Eugenia Zuckerman, Lior Eitan, Shira Eliassaf, Omri Rave, Michael Slatkin, Uzi Shalev, Amanda Boyd- Grout, Lucille Beer, and composers Philip Lasser, Victor Bloom and Sheila Silver.
She has performed throughout the US, Europe and Canada, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (NY), BPL Concert Series (NY), The Daniel Arts Center (MA), PS21 (NY), The Jerusalem Theater, Jerusalem Music Center, with members of the Israeli Philharmonic at the Eden-Tamir Music Center (Jerusalem), Tzavta 11:11 Music Series (Tel-Aviv), Renewal Conference center (NH), Schenectady College Chamber Music Series (NY), The Goetheanum (Switzerland), Wisteria Chamber Music Society (NY), at Camphill Ghent, Camphill Village Copake (NY), Camphill Triform (NY), Kimberton Hills (PA) and at Taconic Music Series (VT) to name a few.
Ms. Melamed-Lev was the founder and Artistic Director of The Concerts at Camphill Ghent from 2012-2019.
A passionate advocate of music education, she has coached, performed, and gave master classes at the Schenectady Community College School of Music, Williams College, Bard College and at her private studio.
Born in Jerusalem, Gili Melamed-Lev studied with Bracha Eden, Susan Swilich-Cohen, Sascha Gorodnitzki, Miyoko Nakaya-Lotto and György Sándor, and was a scholarship student at The Juilliard School, Montclair State College and The Rubin Academy (Jerusalem).
